Working with Oliver Construction

Here is a summary of the typical steps followed when you work with us. If you have questions about them, please contact us. Note that these are only a summary, and provide general working guidelines. Within them, we customize the details as needed for each project.
If you are not in-state, we will make special arrangements regarding project communication. These can include a number of options including digital photographs once building has begun.
References are available upon request.

  1. Select Plan and Property. You'll need to select a plan or at least a floor plan. This can be from a magazine that you have, or a sketch that you make. Of course, for a new house, you'll need to pick the property where you want to build.

  2. Contact Oliver Construction for an Estimate to discuss your project and to ask for an estimate. To provide an accurate first estimate, we may ask for the following information:
    • Information about the building site--We'll ask to make an appointment for a site visit with you, or for directions to the site if you're not in town.
    • Some idea of the exterior and interior finishes. Examples include hardwood floors versus carpeting, window and door brands and types, and type of exterior siding.

  3. Create the Final Quote Once you've selected the final plan for your home or project, to create an accurate final quote, we'll need to review the blueprints and detailed specifications for the interior and exterior finishes. We're glad to discuss these with you at any point in the estimating process and to explain the range of options available with the pros and cons of each.

  4. Create a Contract and Schedule Once we agree on the final quote, we'll draw up a contract, set a start date, and create a schedule.

  5. As the project progresses, we'll have a number of meetings and checkpoints along the way so you can keep track of the progress.
